A pitbull wearing antlersThis year ushered in some rather exciting and unforgettable events at RRVH. It has been a whirlwind, action-packed year for all of us (does anyone else remember that truck crashing into the brand new dog-walking area?) and we are taking this moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the events and changes we experienced here.

The Big Move

PicMonkey CollageThe MAJOR event this year was our move to a brand new location! The new hospital is not only equipped with state-of-the-art veterinary equipment, but it boasts a dedicated pharmacy and lots more space in our boarding area. We were so happy to invite the community to our Open House last April. It was certainly an event to remember and new friends were made.

The move was…extensive, one might say, but after everything was in it’s final place, we felt like we’ve been here the entire time. Feeling like we are at home creates a welcoming environment (we hope!) for our community members and their pets.

If you haven’t been in to see us in our new location, we’d love to welcome you and your pet and offer a tour of our new digs.

Longer Hours

A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the staffSince January, we have received tremendously positive feedback from our clients about our availability and extended hours. Now you can bring your pet in to see us every day during the week between 7:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. Yes, you read that right: 10 p.m.!

We are also open on Saturdays (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Sundays (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Please keep our number handy (916-624-7387) in the case of a pet emergency and remember that we don’t charge an emergency fee before 9 p.m.

Staff Changes

We consider ourselves very lucky to have added two new doctors to our practices. Dr. Sabrina Ha and Dr. Christina Sander both joined us in July and they have both contributed enormously to our team.

We also added a few new staff members and it’s likely that your pet will see Amber, Allen, or Warren in our kennel. Our new Assistant is Julie, and Tamra joined the CSR group.

It can be a daunting experience to integrate into a tight-knit group of doctors and patients, but we can attest that our new team members now feel like family too!

Fun Fundraising Events

Rocklin Ranch Vet having a barbecueThe Rocklin Community Animal Shelter held several fundraising events this year, including the recent Wine and Whiskers Benefit on December 6th. Although the pizza, wine, and beer were downright delectable, the staff that care for our community’s shelter animals brought down the house with their knowledge, compassion, and enthusiasm. Great job, everyone!

Other Noteworthy Happenings

The Rocklin Ranch Vet staff outside the hospitalUnfortunately, all of our news this year wasn’t positive. Rudy, our hospital cat, was diagnosed with cancer in August and we are all doing our best to support his needs.

Also, as we hinted at above, a truck really did crash into our brand new dog walking area in September. No one got hurt and the damage has been repaired so we are considering ourselves very fortunate.

On a high note, though; we did get to experience new and enchanting adventures through the eyes of our colleagues. Dr. Basra and Dr. Kaur vacationed in Alaska (yes, it was summer!) and our Practice Manager, Tammy, went all the way to Dubai!

Looking Back, Moving Ahead

We hope the end of this year will provide you with an opportunity to reflect on your accomplishments and changes. We know from experience that, by doing so, we are closer to new endeavors in the new year.

From your friends at Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital, we wish you a safe, happy, and joyous holiday season and abundant new year!
