A basset hound celebrating with their humansIt’s that time of year again. The season of decorating, baking, planning, and of course, shopping! Many of us consider our pets full-fledged family members and couldn’t imagine not including them in our holiday celebrations.

Here at Rocklin Ranch we want your pet to enjoy the holidays right along with you. Since we know that each pet is as special and unique as a snowflake we have come up with a list of our favorite gift ideas for your furry friends.

Unique Gifts For Unique Pets

The pet products industry is nearly bursting with unique and interesting gift items. You can purchase practically anything you can think of for your pet, from waterproof tents to wooden toy puzzles, there is even a fish-training kit on the market.

Of course there’s nothing wrong with putting some old standbys under the tree for your four-legged friends this year either; a new collar, cozy pet bed, catnip mouse or fresh pack of tennis balls is sure to please.

Homemade Holiday Gifts

Do-it-yourself gifts are all the rage these days. A quick internet search will yield hundreds if not thousands of ideas for homemade pets gifts for any skill level. Some of our favorites include items that are easy to make (get the kids involved!), such as personalized ID tags and pet bowls. We also love eco friendly gifts like these cat and rabbit toys made from items you probably have lying around your home.

The Gift Of Health

A dental cleaning or wellness exam probably isn’t your pet’s idea of the perfect gift, but thanks to the long-lasting benefits of good health, both are truly gifts that keep on giving. If your pet hasn’t been in to see us for a while, give us a call to schedule an appointment.

Family Fun

Not all gifts can be bought or made. In fact, the gift your pet probably wants the most is free and easy to give: more time with you!

So grab the family dog and head out for a brisk walk or to the dog park, followed by snuggles on the couch with mugs of hot cocoa (for the humans only, of course). Or fire up that laser pointer for a good old-fashioned game of chase with your kitty. No matter which activity you do with your pet, he or she will be delighted to spend some extra time with you, and the warm fuzzies you will both receive.
